Oscar visited the National Museum of Viceroyalty, in the state of Mexico.
 This building was constructed in the 16th century by the Jesuit order, to house a convent and three colleges. The Museum lodges the most important collection of Viceroyalty Colonial art, such as gold and silversmith, furniture and musical instruments. The social organization, and the importance of the spiritual life for the people of the New Spain, is reflected here. The Retablos, altarpieces covered with gold leaf, as well as the sculptures and paintings of the Colonial Period are exhibited. The rooms where the monks studied and lived can be visited. The collection of Crowned Nuns paintings is remarkable.

 El gran edificio que lo aloja es poseedor de una larga y complicada historia que se inicia a fines del siglo XVI con la llegada de los religiosos de la Compañía de Jesús con el objeto de establecer un noviciado, en el lugar que hoy es Tepotzotlán.
 La vasta colección que expone el Museo Nacional del Virreinato abarca principalmente un extenso número de expresiones religiosas que se manifestaron en el campo de la pintura, la escultura y las artes menores y aplicadas. Se pueden observar una gran cantidad de objetos de la vida diaria de aquel entonces y paneles explicativos, además de muestras artísticas con temas religiosos como pinturas realizadas por maestros como Martín de Vos, los Echave, Nicolás y Juan Rodríguez Juárez, el afamado pintor novohispano Cristóbal de Villalpando y Miguel Cabrera, además de una gran cantidad de óleos anónimos de los siglos XVII y XVIII; hay también esculturas, vestidos, mobiliario, joyería de oro y plata, vidrio y cerámica.
